Bidder Fraud - $11,000 bid on $20 item!! ??
I have an item at auction right now with 2 0 and 2 feedback accounts in a bidding war for an item. They are over $11,000 for this item that is worth no more than $20, at best. There is no way to contact eBay that I can find any more. There is 2 days left. How do I report this, what should I do? 306507128290

Mentor10 months agoThere is nothing that eBay will do about this as it is an auction. However, I doubt that the winner will actually pay for the item at that price. Since there are two days left in the auction you could cancel their bids and then make sure to block them from making more bids. You would need to enter their user ids on your block Bidder/Buyer list. They probably will not like this but right now their bidding war is not doing your auction any favors.

OP10 months agoIt's really strange that there are two going back and forth. They have to be the same person using a new and a hacked account. Makes no sense! Cancelling bids might be a good idea. Thanks.

I doubt it's the same person. Newbies often don't realize that there are consequences for not paying ... so they are just having fun. I've seen this happen a few times over the years. [Sometimes it was the result of two 'nuclear bid' snipes in the final seconds.]
If you decide to cancel ... BE SURE that you don't accidentally cancel by 'selling to the highest bidder'. You'll be charged fees based on $11,000 sale.

Mentor10 months agoHi @rollnpc
There's really nothing to report. Just let the auction run it's course, and let the two newbies have their fun.
I'm sure you will be cancelling the item using 'Buyer didn't pay' 5 days after the auction ends. Thankfully, you won't have to pay eBay fees on the highest bid ... unless you end the auction yourself!!!
[This is one of those times some future sellers will be in awe over what the item 'sold' for ... not realizing that the buyer didn't pay.]

OP10 months agoYa, like Disney Black Diamond VHS, right?! This is best case scenario. My fear is they actually pay!
