Bid Retraction on a Watch
Hello,
I have a working Gucci bezel watch listed. (I am the original owner). I started bidding at $1. After 24 hours the highest bidder (at $305ish) retracted her bids (she had automatic bidding turned on) and is no longer bidding. The next lower bidder is currently at $37 - but was willing to go up to $300ish as the bids showed prior to the retraction. And everyone watching could see the bids and now knows the bidding history. Previous sales for this watch with similar features have sold for around $400.
I read the eBay bid retraction post and think that her bids were legitimate although she posted that she "entered the wrong amount." She even messaged me that she would pay whatever I wanted if I'd sell it to her as a "buy it now" or "make an offer" (a gift for her mom who had hers stolen) but I did not set up the auction that way and told her. I messaged her and asked if she was able to buy the watch from another seller but have not heard back.
Is there anything I should do before this auction ends on Tuesday evening; in 3 days 10 hours? Should I pull the auction or let it proceed? Do you think the retracted bidder and the one still bidding at $37 are in on this together? Should I report the bidder that retracted as it seems like her bids were binding and she knew what she was doing? I messaged her and asked if she was able to buy the watch from another seller but have not heard back.
