Bid retraction

Question

I have a buyer retract a bid on an item. The reason given was "accidentally bid wrong amount." However, the bid placed was at the starting bid price (no accident here), and the bid was retracted 4 days after placing it, and 19 hours before the auction ended.

I chatted with an agent, but got no help. Has this happened to anybody else, and were you able to get the matter resolved?

It happens.

They might have found it cheaper or a BIN listing and just bought the item.

If they decided they didn't want the item, I'd rather have them retract their bid, then take a chance on them winning and not paying or having to deal with a return.

Buyers are not always truthful when retracting their bid.

Unfortunately, Ebay no longer takes any action regarding invalid bid retractions. ðŸ™„
