BEWARE the Ebay Buyer Guarantee Policy
Like a big dummy, I bought a "Silver American Eagle" at a bargain price. When I got it, I saw it was a fake. I did everything Ebay told me to do. The seller furnished me with a shipping label and I sent the coin back. Then the seller refused to give me my money back. I told Ebay the entire story and what did they do? Not a thing.
Over the years, I have bought and sold numerous items from Ebay. No more.

Mentor11 months agoIf you filed a "not as described" return and tracking shows delivery (or even just a delivery "exception"), if the seller does not refund you within three business days you should be able to ask eBay to step in and force a refund at that point, for up to twenty-one business days from tracking showing delivery.

OP11 months agoThe seller approved the return and I was sent a label. I mailed the coins back. Then the seller denied the claim and said they did not receive the coins. About the same time their account closed so I could not give feedback. I cannot be convinced Ebay is not aware of these scammers and allows them to sell on the platform. I suspect the scammers have already opened another account and resold the same coins again.

Mentor11 months agoIf you opened a refund request for not as described and returned the coins with a label sent through eBay a seller can't deny the refund on not receiving them.
What does the case say?

eBay probably closed their account for fraud - if you have a return open, contact CS for help getting a refund, they can see from their end why the account was shut down.

OP11 months agoTheir AI tells me it has been too long and I have no right of appeal. That's fine with me. I just won't buy anything else from them. My wife is having a similar problem with them over a door lock.

Then go to your payment source and open a claim there instead.
You have other options, depending on how long it has been.

OP11 months agoI opened a chargeback with my credit card. If that does not work I'll file a small claims.

OP11 months agoI'm just glad I did not use the Ebay Mastercard.

Mentor11 months agoYou opened an eBay return request? Was the label provided through the return request? Does it show delivered back to the seller?
