Best offer
How long does the seller have to respond to my best offer? I put a best offer on an item and did not hear back from the seller. After few days I purchased the item from someone else to find out after I purchased it somewhere else that my best offer was excepted and now I have two of them.

·2 years agoThe seller accepted it before it expired (the time given when you make the offer, which I think is 24 hours these days but they have changed it from time to time, or when the listing ends for any reason including someone buying it, or when there is a bid on the auction, whichever occurs first), you just didn't get notice of it (or ignored or misunderstood it).
I'm guessing you had to pre-authorize payment and your payment source was automatically charged when the seller accepted. eBay should send out an "Order confirmed" email at that time (as they do upon payment for payments through Checkout) but many posters here have reported the same complaint (though again, they may have simply missed it or assumed it was phishing spam or the like).
Whenever you have made a bid or offer, you need to periodically check your My eBay (Bids/Offers and Purchases) to see the status of it, until it is no longer pending. At least every 3 days since you have 4 days to pay.

The eBay Help pages states 24 hours ... you may have missed the Accepted offer ...
