Benchmade Bugout Knives

Question

I have been trying to find authentic Bugout knives from Benchmade. There are a lot of fakes out there, so before buying I will ask the seller if they are indeed authentic. One of them had the box in the picture, but not completely, I asked if they could add the whole picture in description. I tried buying from 2 sellers, this being one of them, and it said they denied my offers to buy, or buy it now. Can anyone, or has anyone here seen, or dealt with this? Thank you.

Hi @2007samples

I agree with @jacbarcollectibles . No seller will appreciate being questioned about trafficking in counterfeit goods (a felony), and if a seller is selling counterfeits he will lie to you if he answers at all.

Review the seller's feedback to see what other buyers are saying and see if he has a history of selling those knives without complaint.

If you do receive a counterfeit, then you can open a return for an item that is not as described. It's not necessary for the seller to state that an item is authentic. The item is expected to be authentic per federal law and eBay policy.

Unfortunately most sellers will resent your questioning if the item is authentic. Sellers of fake items will not answer you or lie about it anyway. eBay cannot force a seller to sell to you.
