Below standard performance
So I was going through my account and noticed I'm below standard because I've had 5 orders cancelled because they weren't in stock, now mind you I'm top rated in every other area, how the heck can eBay say I'm below standard over 5 cancelled orders? I think it's just so they can get me for more money which is crap, I'm nowhere near below standard but eBay refuses to listen to me, any help is appreciated

Five cancelled orders is a LOT. (From eBay's point of view, it's like saying I'm perfect in every way except for being a serial killer.)
eBay does not do this just to get more money. Every time a seller doesn't fulfill an order, he disappoints and inconveniences a buyer and that leads to a loss of revenue for eBay and possibly a loss of a customer who won't come back. When sellers don't fulfill orders, it also hurts the business of all the other sellers on eBay because eBay's reputation is harmed. (If every seller on eBay didn't ship one item, that would be millions of orders that weren't filled.)
It's important to keep a handle on your inventory so this doesn't happen again. Too many more defects and you will lose your selling privileges.

OP8 months agoSo your saying 5 cancelled orders in a year is a lot? And when I looked at the cancelled orders they werent because I cancelled them, they are orders customers had me cancel, and honestly that shouldn't be held against me at all

Mentor8 months agoYou said in the original post that the orders were cancelled because they were not in stock. It does not matter if the buyer asked you to cancel because it was out of stock or you did this on your own as this is still a major violation of eBay policy and you earned a defect on your account for each cancellation that was "Out of Stock". Each defect lasts a full year from when it was earned so they will drop off of your seller record over time.

Mentor8 months agoYes, five a year is a lot. Only sellers can cancel orders. You wrote that you cancelled the orders because you were out of stock. When you can't fulfill an order, yes, that counts against you.

Mentor8 months agoIf you are cancelling orders, you can easily be below standard
Here are the standards.
Seller standards policy | eBay
Check your seller dashboard.
It's all based on a percentage of defects to sales, so it one metric can put you below standard.
