Being overcharged for shipping
Hello. Does anybody know what to do when your charged extra money on your shipping label because they say the box measured bigger than the measurement that was originally entered? I sold an item, the next day I purchased a box from UPS for the item that measures 15×15×48 (I have the receipt with those dimensions on it). One hour after I purchased the box, I brought the box with my item in it back to UPS and shipped it. They weighed it at 11 pounds & one ounce. I just received notice that the 15×15×48 box I purchased from UPS now measures 15×16×49 and my billable weight is 79 pounds!!! This is so frustrating because I know these extra charges are blatantly wrong and it is happening more and more often. Any help would be much appreciated.

The box size printed on the box is often the usable INSIDE dimensions not the outside dimensions. If the box bulges then that means it will measure more around its girth.
The weight of 79 lbs instead of 11 "may" be related to how UPS charges for oversized packages. Each carrier handles that situation differently. For example, USPS does this too but calls it "volume" weight if a box is over 1728 cubic inches.
I assume since you purchased your label at the UPS counter then you manually added the tracking number to the sold file once you got home?
