Being overchared tax in USA
Ebay not charging me the correct sales tax rate. They are charging me a higher rate than should be for my shipping (home) address. I have been unable to reach anyone at ebay help who can assist. They pretty much disregard this issue and I've also been directed to submit documentation to the tax exempt department, which didn't seem correct when the agent mentioned to do that, and that department wrote back in confusion without any option to reply because I don't want to be tax exempt, I just don't want to be overcharged tax.
Anyone have ideas?

Mentor1 year agoWhat state? What rate are you paying?
Are you taking into consideration the tax on shipping, if appropriate for your state?
Are you specifying your zip plus four if your zip code has multiple tax rates or local taxes? If not, you may be charged the highest rate in your area.
Some items have additional fees that may be rolled into the sales tax line -- things like disposal fees for eWaste, batteries, white goods, tires, or mattresses, depending on the individual state laws.
