Banned for life and have zero clue why
Zero clue why and ended with 100%positive feedback and above standard from eBay and offered to be a top rated seller. And zero clue why I was banned for life but then after weeks was told I could try again in 5 years. What is this All about

Was told by whom? Don't use passive voice. I'll assume you meant Customer Service. The real question is, How did you contact Customer Service? Did you request a call back, or did you make contact via one of the social medium platforms? Here's the thing: If you found a number on the internet that purported to be to eBay CS, that was not a legitimate number. eBay has no inbound user-available numbers to CS.

Sorry I stopped abruptly. My computer was being difficult, but I know what causes it. Windows goes into updating mode while I'm online. I have the option set to update when I'm offline, and it does sometimes, but at other times it does it while I'm in the middle of something. I have to go into Settings and force the update to complete, then I'm okay ... until the next time.
So, pressing on, I'm like the other responder, I've never heard of a five year suspension either. That's why it occurred to me that you might have been talking to someone that you found by calling a number from the internet. If you gave them a credit card number, call that card and dispute charges, and cancel the number and get a new number.

There would have been a message last year when this happened.
You could try ordering a history of your communications from eBay - go to account settings >> request your eBay data.
I have never head of a 5 year reprieve - it the suspension said indefinite, that means permanent.
