balance negative for no refund item
Summary: raza1429 is facing issues with their eBay transaction, not receiving payment for an item, and a buyer requesting shipping details. They suspect a refund was processed, negatively affecting their balance. mam98031 advises raza1429 to review eBay's policies, noting that as a new seller, funds are placed on hold but should not delay shipping. mam98031 suggests processing the refund to avoid negative feedback and further issues, detailing how funds and refunds work for new sellers on eBay.
Hi there I haven’t received any payment for my item listed on Ebay . And one buyer already paid you ! And he is asking me for shipping details!
I haven’t received any emails for payment options!
I guess he already requested for refund and you guys negative my balance for nothing to be refund!
Please let me know what’s the best way to get this resolved!
If he is still needing the item I listed then zero my balance, get me paid then I’ll go ahead and ship the item to him!
Thanks

Mentor1 week agoI do wish you the best of luck, but PLEASE do some homework and learn the basic rules of selling so you don't get yourself into more trouble.

Mentor1 week agoI always encourage new sellers to do their homework BEFORE starting to list on Ebay. It is a JOB and should be treated as such. For the very basics, you should be reading the User Agreement you agreed to so that you could start selling on this site. As well as policy pages on HOW TO list an item as well as the policy pages on how your money is processed. These are just the basics. Lots more to learn, but you really should do your homework BEFORE listing your first item.
You have a couple SERIOUS issues happening here. First as a new seller your funds the buyer PAID are on hold. That does NOT mean you hold up the buyer's shipment, it means you NEED TO SHIP the item. Ebay allows you to pull the funds to cover shipping from your held funds IF you create the shipping label in Ebay.
Did the buyer file an INR [item not received] claim? If that is the case, you have been sitting on this for a few days, not a good move at all. I see you have one item sold on the 8th of September. That is 22 days you have been waiting, no wonder the buyer wants a refund. PROCESS IT. Accept the claim and issue the buyer a refund and APOLOGIZE to them. Let them know you made a mistake because you misunderstood the rules. Don't blame Ebay, accept responsibility and move on. Hope they don't leave you negative feedback. DO NOT let this go to the buyer asking Ebay to step in. If that happens it will be worse for you. Ebay will Force you to make the refund, Ebay will not refund you the selling fees and you get a defect for not processing a claim in your stats, which is NOT good.
Now the refund will be taken from your back up funding source or your bank account. But try not to get too worried about that as in a short period of time after the refund, Ebay will release the funds that are on hold and send it off to you, so it will offset the refund.
When funds will be available
You can see when your funds will be released in Seller Hub or My eBay. However, your funds may be unavailable for longer if we have concerns about the order.
Here are some situations where transaction holds could be applied to a seller's funds and when those funds would typically be released.
A brand-new private seller
New private sellers will typically receive their funds within 2 days after delivery confirmation (for items sent with an ebay label), 7 days after delivery confirmation (for items sent with a third-party label), or 31 days after the buyer pays (for items sent without tracking) while they build a consistent track record. Once they've qualified to receive their funds faster, they'll typically receive their funds within 2 days of the buyer’s payment.
