Bait and Switch

Question

I bid on an item and it shows that the seller created a USPS label for the item and nothing else. The seller claims that the post office says the item is in transit with no updates posted because of bad weather. I later get a message that the seller is sending me a similar item also through USPS because they are not confident that the post office will deliver the original item. It feels like a classic bait and switch telling me I can just keep both items if the original item shows up.

eBay has a money back guarantee for items that are not received or not as described, so "bait and switch" does not work on eBay.

The classic "Bait and switch" refers to when an advertised deal lures you into a store, but the salesman won't actually sell you the item you want and instead uses high-pressure sales tactics to convince you to buy something else that is not as good a deal.
