Bad Address on Order
Summary: sandiego_livin shared a concern about a buyer requesting a refund for an item sent to an address listed in California, while the buyer claimed to be in Wisconsin. sandiego_livin is worried about losing both the item and the refund due to eBay policies favoring buyers. comics-scifi-collectibles advised checking if the buyer filed an 'item not received' (INR) case and suggested providing tracking information if delivery was made to the correct address.
I buyer requested a refund for an IND. When I asked them to verify their address so I can initiate a USPS lost item search, they told me they are in Wisconsin and the order went to California. I sent it exactly where the order listed, and the buyer insists "account address is correct"?
What is a seller to do in this instance? With eBay "buyer is always right" attitude, I suppose I'll be out both the item, and the refund, and the cost of delivery.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
Frustrated seller,

Mentor1 week ago@sandiego_livin Sorry for the delay in responding, life has been busy.
You said they filed a IND claim? That usually stands for not as described return request.
OR did they file not received refund request case?
If they filed an INR case then they just respond to the case with tracking that shows delivery to the address provided at checkout.

OP1 week agoSorry... Item Not Received... The buyer put in the wrong address (California) and claims it was never received in Wisconsin. Since this was posted, spoke with eBay customer support and to my pleasant surprise, they are siding with me.
No refund will be required and no 'dings' to my shipping history will be recorded.
A win for the sellers, for a change - subject to change until the case is closed.
Thanks for the response.
