Awaiting Payment
I accepted a buyers offer for one of my items. Now it shows that the item is "awaiting payment". Sometimes an item can get "stuck" in this status for a number of days. I thought that to make an offer, a customer had to have already given payment information to Ebay so that if their offer is accepted, the seller can then ship the item. How is it possible for something to get stuck in the "awaiting payment" mode? Does this mean that there is a possible issue with a credit card?

Check your buyer requirements to see if you have it set to require payment info before making an offer or bid -

Awaiting payment should mean that the buyer has not submitted payment. Otherwise it would show in your payment account as processing.

OP8 months agoThanks for your reply. I already had the payment requirement set, so I'm not sure why there's a delay here.
Maybe the buyer's CC company is holding it up for some reason? While in there I did make some changes as to buyers with strikes on them, so that will help in the future. Thanks for trying to help me out. I really appreciate it!!

OP8 months agoJust fyi: my concern isn't that I get my money - it's a very cheap item. My concern is shipping. I always try to ship the same day the buyer purchases, so I never want to keep anyone waiting for their product. I also want to keep my track record for on-time shipping perfect. With a major snowstorm bearing down on our area, I am concerned that this payment will go through after the storm hits which could, (and most likely will...) delay shipment for a few days.
