Avoid the shipping label purchase
How can I avoid this huge payment for shipping label?

·2 years agoIt sounds like you didn’t enter the weight and dimensions correctly when you set up the listing. You’ll need to ship anyway, or you would have to cancel as “out of stock “, getting a defect against your seller account and probably negative feedback from the buyer.

To avoid shipping cost surprises, enter the exact weight and dimensions of your packaged item when you are LISTING it, and use calculated shipping.
What your buyer pays is controlled by the entries in your listing.
What you pay is controlled by the actual box size and weight when you ship.
Don't use eBay's "recommended" shipping.
Use a scale and a ruler. Round up the weight to the next lb. Round your measurements up.

OP2 years agoOk. But I printed label from order before I sent it. Or they change after delivery? Or I don’t have to print it from order at all? What is the simplest way to not pay for this label at all?

You have to buy a shipping label. You are responsible for shipping. The other option is 100% local pickup.
When "the Buyer pays for shipping", that money is given to you/the seller.
- Then you pay for the shipping label.
- The amount the buyer pays for shipping could be more or less than the actual final shipping cost, it is based on the settings chosen in your listing when you created it.
- The amount you pay for shipping is based on the actual final shipping details you enter before you click to print a label.
Is the item sent yet? Either your calculations when you listed it were wrong, or your calculations when you shipped it are wrong.

OP2 years agoI got you. But how is it even possible that label costs more than shipping?
that item was shipped already. And 15 dollars was taken in every my order for label what is really huge amount

Mentor2 years agoShipping 7.58 -- This is what the buyer paid for shipping. The amount was based on your listing parameters.
Shipping label 15.19 -- This is what you paid for the actual cost
The $15.19 isn't wrong (I don't think) it's that you undercharged the buyer.

I took a look at your other listings. Most of your listings don't have enough shipping to cover your costs. Many of the items will be 2 lbs packed and
1) Revise each listing and enter the *actual* weight (rounded up to the next lb) and actual dimensions of the packed box
2) Change your shipping to "USPS Ground Advantage" not USPS Priority Mail. Ground Advantage requires you to supply your own box.
3) Do *not* use a Medium Flat Rate box - that costs $15.19 and is very expensive. Buy some boxes or reuse some boxes. (If you want to use USPS Priority Mail, order some free 12x12x8 boxes from the USPS website. They will usually cost less than a "Flat Rate" box")

See how Ground Advantage is cheaper than Priority Mail, and that the Flat Rate Boxes are mostly the most expensive?
