Automatically charged
I'm a buyer (with perfect feedback) who was just "automatically charged" for an item I won for the first time. But that process doesn't seem to allow me to give instructions or thanks to the seller, and it also presumes I want the item sent to my home address, which often isn't the case -- I buy things to send to other people. Is there a way I can opt out of being "automatically charged" ? If not, I may just opt out of eBay ...

Mentor1 year agoebay has opted all sellers into the auto pay process in an attempt to decrease the number of unpaid transactions. Sellers can opt OUT of auto pay in their communication preferences. When you are faced with a seller with auto pay, I believe you can specify the SHIP TO address and the payment method at that time. If not, you can make any changes within 1 hour of when the payment will be automatically processed. ebay had to add that 1 hour when too many people protested that they had no way to make any changes.

OP1 year agoAn hour is not long enough. I ALWAYS pay and pay fast, but not always that fast ...

Mentor1 year agoI haven't run into any listings with auto pay, but I believe you can specify the payment method and the ship to address at the time you place your bid, or make the offer. If 1 hour is not enough time to make any changes, then use the Tell us what you think bubble when you see it.
