Automatic withdrawals of my funds after winning auction

Question

I have 1100 FB credits and I recently had a message when trying to place a bid asking how I would pay if won.

Thought it was strange as I've bought many hundreds of items over the years. The auction ended and I won and when I opened the auction at the end of bidding, and saw that I won, I saw that eBay had automatically withdrawn the winning amount from my bank account? When did this start? I just sold an item for $77 and expected the same from the buyer with 8 FB credits, but that automatic pay is not happening and I'm still waiting for their payment, but no word from them.
