automatic relisting
i am a 14 yr seller. up until this month, aug.2023, i have been able to keep approx 200 items up for sale on any given day. this was possible because the automatic relisting option was in place for up to 3 times WITHOUT USING UP MY FREE 250 MONTHLY LIMIT. The automatic relisting has been taken away and the result is now i can list 250 items for a maximum of ONLY 10 days per month, leaving 20/21 days with ZERO items for sale. i am a top rated seller with 100% positive feedback and a following. is anyone else experiencing this disaster? i've called EVERY day for the last 10/12 days ... crickets

Are you using the newer listing form that replaced the Business listing form? If the auto-relist option does not appear on your listing form, use the options menu at that top right to make that feature available. The 8 free relists (total of nine insertions) is available to both the Quick Lister for beginners and to the Unified Lister for experienced sellers. The difference in the two is that it is automatic and not selectable on the Quick Lister, whereas it must be selected on the Unified Lister.

OP2 years agothank you for your reply. i have no "option" menu on the top right. i have "settings", "your feedback", "latest update" as my choices. Everything was working fine until first of august. who changed it and why?

What you are describing is at the very top of the page. Instead, look closely at my screenshot for "see pricing options" that appears at the top right of the "Pricing" section.

OP2 years agothank you again for your help, more than ebay has done. i have gone to "pricing options". there is No option for me to choose "auto relist" . for some reason ebay has removed it . GRRRRRR

·2 years agoWell, that is disappointing. I have seven "options" available on my screenshot. Are any others missing for you?
I'm wondering if I see the auto-relist because I seldom post auctions and it's shown to me for that reason. I'm a long-time, but occasional, seller. I've created a couple of auctions this year just to verify they would relist without incrementing my insertions, and they worked as advertised.
The 3 free relists date back a ways. At one point, eBay removed free relists for business sellers and it was only available on the Quick Lister. Then it came back as 8 free relists with the new listing form, but possibly only for occasional sellers.

I suspect your recent listing activity has pushed you over the threshold. If you want to speak to eBay about it, scroll to the bottom of this help page, click the "Contact us" button, and type "agent" into the chat that opens. You should see a callback and human chat option.

OP2 years agohello again, the options available to me are: autofill; buy it now; reserve price; best offer; scheduling; sell as a lot; private listing.
so basically because i am an experienced seller eBay is punishing me for being top rated, 100% positive feedback with a following!!! what kind of business sense does that make? they are now restricting me to selling for only 10 days of each month, and therefore having nothing for sale for 20/21 days each month!!! STUPIDY is too kind a word! I can't imagine ANY CEO saying, " Lets remove our potential for making money"

OP2 years agoThanks for reply, however, I’m not looking to change my selling strategies, they were perfect. The change is a bad one. I’ve not had this issue for 14 yrs. if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

·2 years agoIf you have to keep relisting auctions, ditch the auctions and list as a fixed price.
Then they'll be up all month.

OP2 years agoNot what I want to do, many many of my items sell for more than asking price. Fixed price cuts into profit

·2 years agoFree automatic relistings are free only for a limited time (mostly for new sellers, 8 relistings of auctions with no winner is the number it applied to last I saw an offer on the listing form). Otherwise the listing fees apply (with Basic Insertion Fee counting toward your allowance then the Basic Insertion Fee charged after it is used up-- and optional upgrades charged).
Your listings are limited to 10 days because you are choosing auction format listings, rather than fixed-price listings which are "Good 'til Cancelled" with an autorenewal every month.
If you intend to keep listing at that level with auctions you should consider a store subscription that gives you a higher allowance of free Basic Insertions and lower FVF% in exchange for a flat monthly fee.

OP2 years agoI understand the NEW way eBay is behaving. It is a brand new way. Not been that way for 14 yrs. it is a dumb, anti profit , way. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it
