eBay is not here; this is a user forum.
One of the primary justifications for automatic feedback for sellers was to offset negative feedback, as buyers that have a negative experience are much more likely to actually leave feedback than buyers that have a positive experience in many cases. So a seller that has ninety-nine successful transactions may only receive positive feedback for nineteen of those. If the seller has one unsuccessful transaction and gets a negative for that, the seller's feedback drops to 95%, despite the actual ratio of good transactions to total transaction is 99%.
Since many buyers use feedback to judges sellers when deciding to make a purchase, seller feedback is often critical to sellers.
Buyers, on the other hand, cannot receive negative feedback, and for the most part, other than when making an offer, sellers do not have an opportunity to judge their buyers based on feedback. So buyer feedback is not critical in the same way seller feedback is.

OP8 months agoHello, I understand the reasons for eBay to automatically leave Sellers positive feedback and have no objections.
But, doing this for Sellers is new and why I posted…to generate thought and comments from Buyers on the forum who also value their positive feedback.

Mentor8 months agoIf you want discussion or comments from other buyers, you should post this on the Buying board; only a handful of mentors regularly read and can respond here.
