auto pay
When I try to make an offer on an item it takes me to the auto pay feature. If my offer is accepted by the buyer then they automatically use my payment method chosen. I want to use Paypal credit but in the past when I use Paypal as the method then I have the full amount deducted from my account instead of using PayPal credit which allows me 6 months to pay. On my Paypal account I have Paypal credit as my preferred Payment method, Help please.

·1 year agoWhen you make a bid or offer where the seller and eBay require pre-authorization of automatic payment, not all payment methods available at Checkout are available for the pre-authorization as that is a different thing with different requirements by both eBay and the payment source. PayPal credit is one of the ones not available (as well as Pay in 4).
For an auction bid you have 1 hour after winning where you can manually check out and pay with such payment methods, overriding the automatic payment. I don't think that is available for Best Offers that are accepted.

Mentor1 year agoIt is up to the seller whether a payment method is required to place a bid or make an offer.
In that case, a reversible payment hold will be placed on the payment method to ensure funds are available for the purchase.
PayPal credit and other payment methods may not be suitable for such payments for bids or offers. PayPal credit may still be available for a buy-it-now purchase, however.
