Authenticity question

I purchased a diamond tennis bracelet from labgemsforjewelry on 1/22/25, listed as 10.35 carats and 14k yellow gold. I thought it looked small, and after the clasp broke I took it to my local, very reputable jeweler who measured it at 5.49 carats and 10k yellow gold. As proof she has put this in writing and suggested contacting the seller which I did to no avail. They were less than helpful. I understand eBay will not even consider my return because of the time frame, although I did contact them by phone at least 6 months ago and got nowhere. So my question is how did this item even pass Authenticity? I don’t understand how this is ok under any conditions, timing or not. Can anyone please suggest any recourse or advice? Thank you so much!

eBay's Money back Guarantee (MBG) only protects you for up to 30 days after an item has a delivered scan, or from the last estimated delivery date if there was no tracking. There is no way you can get help from ebay for an item that was purchased over a year before. The details of the listing were removed after 90 days. Unfortunately, any protections your credit card provider offers, have probably lapsed as well.
Anytime you purchase items especially jewelry, gems, watches... etc. take it to be authenticated if it was not sent to ebay's authenticators first.

OP1 month agoMy question is how is it possible it passed authentication, if it was authenticated at all? Because of the time difference I don’t recall and the listing is of course not available, so what could have happened for eBay to allow it being delivered to me?
