Authenticity Guarantee eligibility for India-based diamond jewelry seller
Summary: purvadiamond, an India-based seller of diamond jewelry, inquired about eBay's Authenticity Guarantee policy, which seems to restrict listing diamond jewelry priced over $500 due to recent policy changes. comics-scifi-collectibles explained that this restriction is due to new import tariff regulations with a limit for items shipped to the USA. They suggested listing products on the eBay UK site to avoid these restrictions.
I'm an India-based seller (Purva Diamond, seller ID: purvadiamond)
of handcrafted fine jewelry set with IGI-certified lab-grown diamonds,
priced $250-$1,200.
eBay's Authenticity Guarantee policy states AG is mandatory for jewelry
$500+, but also states: "Items from selected sellers in India and Japan
are also eligible, with the exception of loose diamonds or diamond
jewelry."
Since my entire product line is diamond jewelry, does this mean I
cannot list diamond jewelry priced $500+ as an India-based seller?
Has anyone else dealt with this specific restriction? Would appreciate
clarity from eBay staff or experienced sellers before I list anything
at these price points.

The policies have changed due to the tariffs.
You should have received an email from eBay in regards to the $500 limit. This is NOT an account limit but a limit that is being applied due to the changes on import tariffs.
In order to maintain shipping performance standards in light of recent legislative changes in the USA, your listings will cease to be permitted according to our policy:
https://export.ebay.com/en/fees-regulations-policies/ebay-policies/ebay-seller-listing-policy-update-for-sales-to-the-united-states/
Impacted Listings:
1.listings that have a value in excess of US$500; and
2.are being shipped to the USA. Automatic Ending: Please note that any listings that breach the policy will be ended automatically by eBay, without any further notice being given or compensation being paid.
Support: If you have any questions about the new policy or how it will affect you can contact eBay using: hisappeals@ebay.com.
Thanks for your understanding.
You may wish to consider listing your items for sale on the eBay UK site>
https://www.ebay.co.uk/ Then you can block shipping to the US.
UK fees will apply to your sales. Here's a link to the eBay UK community If you have questions about using the UK site. https://community.ebay.co.uk/
