authenticity guarantee
Purchased item with authenticity guarantee in listing and the shipping progress shows it wil not be getting sent to authenticator but directly from international hub to me in Canada. Why would this change after the transaction has been completed?

This is the link to the original listing, I sent the previous link from my phone. Seems like the mobile app uses a different number in the link, strange.

Mentor11 months ago@kakostevi The listing does say that the seller accepts returns. It does not have the final sale on it so it does not qualify for the Authenticity Program.
As I said before this is your only option if you do not wish to keep the shoes. There is no way to have the shoes authenticated now.
When you receive the shoes you can file a not as described return request with the reason doesn't match pictures or description and in the your return reason state that the listing said it had the Authenticity Guarantee but that these shoes were not checked. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return the shoes. Do NOT refuse the package or you void the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
Seller pays return shipping. The seller will NOT be able to provide a return shipping label since you are in a different country. The seller will need to send the funds to your PayPal account to pay for return shipping BEFORE you return the shoes.
If you do have to buy a return label with the funds the seller provided then you must enter the tracking number into the return request so you will have proof of the return.
Adding tracking to your return
Adding tracking details to your return helps protect against delays or issues in the refund process. If you use an eBay returns label, tracking details are automatically uploaded.
Here's how to add the tracking information to your return if you're using your own return shipping label:
Go to the return request in Purchase History.
Select the shipping carrier from the dropdown list. If you select Other, enter the carrier name.
Enter the tracking number.

Mentor11 months ago@kakostevi What was the item? The rules vary based on the item that is being Authenticated.
Do you have delivery to a PO box? Items shipped to PO boxes are not authenticated.

OP11 months agoPair of shoes and they're being sent to a house. Have purchased several times in the past with no issue, this is the first time it took a detour.

Mentor11 months ago@kakostevi Can you please share the item number or link to the listing?
I am not sure what happened then. That is very odd since the shoes had the Authenticity Checkmark. Did they sell for less than $100 due to a best offer on the listing?
Did the listing state Final Sale?
Sneakers shipped to Canadian or Australian addresses will also be eligible, if the listing is final sale.
You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return the sneakers if they don't match the description or photos.
I look forward to hearing back from you with the listing number.

Not sure why it would matter if it's final sale or return available when relying on the Ebay experts to authenticate before I get them. If there was no authenticity guarantee on the listing I would not have purchased them. There are so many fakes listed on ebay now.

Mentor11 months ago@kakostevi That link is doing odd things.... It won't let me see the original sale.
As far as why the return policy matters it is eBay's policy, which can sometimes be mysterious and confusing. 😉
