I bought a sports card on eBay. After it went through the authenticity it passed, but then it said customized. What does customized mean?

@whodey174 On trading cards, "customized" typically means the card has been altered or personalized beyond its original state, often by adding elements not originally part of the card's design. This can include things like adding a patch, autograph, sticker, etc.

eBay doesn't authenticate the customized portion, they just authenticate the card.

Cards with autographs placed on them by the manufacturer, via sticker or pre-signing, can be authenticated
Cards with relics, patches, aftermarket signatures or autographs that were placed on the card in person can be authenticated, but the authenticity of the embedded relic, autograph, patch, etc., cannot be guaranteed
