Authentication meet in person
I sold a card for over $1,500. The buyer is only an hour away and wants to meet in person. He/She is claiming they can mark the card as received and it will be fine. Just wanting to verify this. Card has been paid for.

Mentor1 week agoBecause the item is priced at more than $1000, ebay will most likely hold the payout for 31 days. Ordinarily, I would suggest filing a cancellation for Problem with buyer's address, but that would include refunding the buyer. Then I would suggest relisting the item with LOCAL PICKUP, sending the item number to the buyer, and the buyer repurchases and pays. ebay sends the buyer a message with a QR code/6 digit code that you need to input into the order to prove delivery.
But, because of the price of the item, I don't know how you feel about refunding the $1500 with a cancellation. If you feel comfortable doing this, make sure you have specified a credit card for your seller fees (so you are not refunding from your checking account):

OP1 week agoI think I"m going to message the buyer and explain to them I won't refund unless they will buy the item again and complete the transaction that way with local pickup. Then I will refund the transaction. If they don't want to do that, no problem, I will just keep the transaction the way it is. Do you think this will work and won't be an issue with Ebay if I then cancel the original transaction for bad address. I've had a similar issue with Ebay and I called and explained it to them and they were super helpful. Thanks for your assistance here.
