Authentication guarantee
I got a card with my 18k necklace with a card stating, “congratulations on your purchase…this item was miscategorized and not eligible for authentication guarantee”. What does that mean? Would the authinticator send a fake necklace?

Mentor6 months agoIt just means that the seller listed the item in the wrong category. The authenticators check to see the item was in the correct category as well as if the item is authentic. So since the item was listed in the wrong category it was not authenticated and just sent on to you. It does not mean that the item is fake just that the seller listed it in the wrong category. Since there was no authentication made you need to take it to a jeweler to have them look at it and give their opinion. You can only file an "Item not as described" case for 30 days from receipt so do not wait.
