Authentication For Jewelry On EBay
I bought a ring I previously owned 30 years ago. It was expensive but I felt reassured with EBay’s Authenticity guarantee. When I received the ring, it did not seem as heavy as my previous ring. I looked up other rings of the same model, just a different size, even smaller sizes than my new one. it seems that the ring I just bought from eBay is at least 2 g short of what it should be. Regardless of the size . Can we really trust eBay’s authenticity?
in the meantime, I bought another ring and it seems that the authenticator had it for all of five minutes and sent it on its way to me. I’m starting to doubt eBay’s authenticator knows what they’re doing.
it was very hard to find the first ring in my size, it cannot be resized and it is out of production. I would hate to return it, but I hate to keep it with these doubts in my head.
