Authentication Center Delays
I sold a gold and diamond ring to a buyer on the 13th of this month (April, 2024) and Ebay required it to be shipped to their 'Authentication Center' in CA (The buyer was in WV) and it arrived there and was signed for on the 17th. ___ Ebay 'suggested' that it would be shipped out between the 22nd and no later than the 26th (yesterday) and today, the 27th, nothing has changed.
Is this normal? 10 days to authenticate this ring and I included the jewelers' appraisal with the item. I'm flabbergasted and the buyer's patience is wearing thin and I don't blame him, but obviously, I am powerless to do anything other than wait.
Anyone have a similar experience?
This was my first time dealing with this 'requirement.'

Mentor2 years ago@lataraoxalic The authentication centers do unfortunately get back up sometimes. There's no way to contact them directly though to find out what the hold up is.
Thank your buyer for their patience, assure them that they have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date stated on their purchase history to file a refund request for a not received item.
