Authenticated Baseball Card Stolen/Missing - USPS
Summary: lacolecciondejp reported purchasing a baseball card through eBay's Authenticity Guarantee program, which was shipped to them via USPS. After receiving a delivery notification, they found the package empty. They seek advice on filing a claim or determining if the shipment is insured under eBay's protection. disneyshopper suggested using the Return option in Purchase History to file a claim, highlighting that the package was "Not as Described" and to include photos and documentation of the issue.
I purchased a baseball card for $210. As part of eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee program, the seller shipped the card to eBay’s authentication facility first.
The card was successfully authenticated and then shipped to me via USPS. I received a notification confirming that the package had been delivered to my mailbox. However, when I went to retrieve the package, I found the shipping envelope/bag inside my mailbox, but it was completely empty. The baseball card was missing.
Since the card was authenticated and shipped to me through eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee service, I would like to know what options I have in this situation. Is the shipment insured or otherwise covered by eBay’s protection?
The card was valued at $210, and I can provide photos of the empty package, tracking information, and any other documentation required.
Please advise me on the next steps to file a claim or any other information that can help on this situation
