AUCTION=the way eBay started
I truly believe eBay should return to Auction Only. The days of "trying to be like Amazon" should be over. Two different buyers....Amazon buyer is the instant gratification and "returner", the eBay buyer is the "inquisitive, looking for unique and familiar things buyer" that usually has the money, knowledge and likes the buzz of "the hunt" for those special things that you cannot find anywhere else........In the first days of eBay, what made them unique was the AUCTION.
I personally do not accept returns because of the serial "wear/use" returner.
Chasing that OTHER buyer should be over, that is why they are no longer the first choice. Let us sellers that are "not stores" or are auction only stop paying the silly fees.....especially eBay charging us by making money on the taxes!!!

The decision of how to list items is left up to individual sellers. According to eBay, only about 12% of listing sales are from auctions.
Of your own current listings, only two out of twenty-three listings are auctions.

Mentor3 years agoThe majority of items listed on eBay are not auctions. Why? Because many sellers prefer Buy It Now and so do buyers who don't want to wait around for an auction to end to find out if they won. Even you seem to prefer fixed price listings as you are only running two auctions.
eBay isn't going to cut off it's nose to spite its face. They are offering what buyers want.
Taking returns is part of selling no matter where you sell. Sellers who don't stand behind their products and don't accept returns are losing business because of it. In 19 years, I have only returned one item and that was because it was defective. Yet I would never buy from a seller with a no-returns policy. I buy from sellers who want to happy buyers. Someone who doesn't want the item is going to find a way to return it and they do that by claiming the item isn't as described, which costs you even more as a seller.

That's like saying eBay sellers should give away their items for free. eBay makes their money from fees. Of course they are going to charge fees. You need to factor your fees into your pricing.
