I was trying to bid on an auction item, when the eBay verify yourself pop up appeared and stopped my. bid. I have been buying for years in eBay. this is crazy. didn't get the item . seller and buyer both lose. rethink this new frustrating addition to eBay.

·2 years agoEither enter your TRUE maximum bid you are willing to pay for the item as listed without regard to what others appear or don't appear to be bidding early enough to sort out any such surprises, OR if you don't want your hidden max out there with enough time for others to probe to bid just above (or just below) use a "sniping service" to place it in the last few seconds. There are reliable and secure ones with a free tier for limited use (the one I use lets you win up to 6 times in any month before you have to go to a paid tier) that use an eBay API that might or might not bypass such challenges as they throw at you in the web or app user interface.
