Auction scam
I offered 83dollars for a 79 starting bid. The cologne I bid on is valued at 130 or 140. 2 minutes left in auction a bid was made for 93! They won. No worries BUT. It was reposted the next day! Really? To me this is unethical. I realize I had a bargain but to cancel it on a phantom unbinding mysterious bid? Can sellers really dictate things to their liking?

·1 year agoThere are many possible reasons for an auction listing to be relisted. Most of them do not mean the seller has done anything unethical.
It takes TWO bidders (or 1 bidder and a Reserve Price) to raise the price above the Starting Price. If you bid (you used the terms bid and offer which are two different things) $83 then at least two other bidders bid, one of them at $92 (unless that was also you bidding $92) and the winner at at least $93 likely more. There is no "phantom unbinding mysterious bid" and you weren't scammed out of anything.

Sellers are allowed to end their auctions early, either to sell to the highest bidder or if there is a problem with the listing.

It is not unethical for someone to bid more than you offered.

OP1 year agoNo no. It isn’t!!! It’s redone. Delisted the next day!! Not sold! Resold again. The point is the high bid cancelled everyone and it’s resold. The seller sells it again because the bid wasn’t enough
