Auction interference while buying
Summary: kyserscollection shared a concerning experience about purchasing a Jordan card on eBay. After paying, a prominent eBay store allegedly contacted the seller offering more money, facilitating a private listing, and erasing the original sale from history. This resulted in kyserscollection being left without a refund for weeks, while the item was already resold. They expressed concern about similar issues increasing with AI bots and asked for advice on possible legal or community actions against such practices.
I recently purchased a Jordan card on ebay and paid right away. A day later a prominent Ebay store contacted my seller, offered way more, showed them how to do a private listing, and how to cover the tracks from my purchase.
My sale was removed from their completed history like it never happened and the private listing created. They left me in the wind on my refund for three weeks knowing they had already resold. My question is can I or we as a community do anything about people that look to completed and sold listings to find deals to the interfere with. I've been on here for two decades and this problem has only gotten worse and will continue with AI bots scanning completed sales now. I know the ebay store that interfered with my purchase can I do anything legally or otherwise?
