Auction awarded to late bids

Question

I placed the highest bid on an item with the auction end time of 11:29AM. However I lost the bid and I could see that there were bids placed at 11:29:23 and 11:29:24. I watched as the clock ticked down with my bid still listed as highest. However I lost due to those later bids.

Is this normal or will ebay correct things?

The auction end time shows only the hours and minutes, not the seconds. So the actual auction end time was at least 11:29:25. You can go to the bid history page and see the exact start time of the auction. For a 7-day action, the auction ended 7 days after it started to the second.
