Auction
I was looking for men's shoes auction and I found a couple of pair that was auction but when I clicked on them in the photos it says they would not accept any bids and wouldn't respond to any messages through ebay it said to contact them through a personal email to buy the item. Is that a legitimate post? If not does it need to be reported to ebay?

Every listing has a "report" option.
When reporting the listing, select these options:
1. Listing practices.
2. Offer to buy or sell outside eBay.
3. Listing states a buyer can purchase the item outside of eBay.

Mentor3 years agoNo. If you are directed to contact a seller outside of eBay to complete a transaction, the seller is violating eBay policy, and buyers who proceed have no protection if the seller disappears.
Scammers often hijack existing eBay accounts and post such ads with contact details in an image to prevent it from being screened by eBay, hoping to collect email addresses from potential victims that can be used when eBay inevitably pulls the fraudulent listings.
