Auction 10 day payment rule
Why are auction buyers allowed to withhold payment for 10 days? From a sellers perspective it is aggravating and the decision to cancel an order after 4 days could be a bad move with respect to building repeat customers.

You can also change the auto unpaid cancelation time frame OR turn it off in account settings. I personally prefer it OFF then manually cancel as not paid if needed.

If you want to require buyers to provide a payment method before bidding BUT do want to allow the buyer to keep shopping for 7 days then you need to NOT allow invoices on this page> https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf
Then the payment method that was provided will be charged one hour after sale.
Autopay is when you as a seller require buyers to provide a payment method before making a bid or offer.
The setting is in buyer requirements in account settings> https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
If you require buyers to provide a payment method prior to bidding AND allow combined shipping in your account settings then the buyer may choose to keep bidding for 7 days before paying. This is a change that many auction sellers asked for. You can read about the 7 days to pay for combined shipping on auctions here>

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you are opted into autopay, and you give a discount for combined shipping, when the buyer places a bid or purchases the fixed price listing, s/he is asked if s/he wants to continue shopping. If s/he replies yes, then ebay gives the buyer up to 10 days in which to make payment.
