AS IS but nothing stating 'Not Working, PARTS ONLY, or that it was tested
That's where my confusion comes in. If I'm a seller I would state the condition, if it's working/not working, what issues, etc.
But then I see sellers who does the bare minimal.
Why list something AS IS but not working or the reason it's AS IS. There should be more than that.
So as a potential buyer I'm asking more questions to the seller in the Contact. And I hope they response.
My question if they don't. What protection do I have. Will EBAY be there for me? The buyer do list the seller paying for Return shipping which is not a deal breaker.
I just wish the AS IS thing be cast aside and simply stated For Parts Only, Not Working, etc. As these are why more accurate than AS IS.
Anyways sorry for the rant.

Mentor1 year ago@diaa73 There is no such thing as AS IS according to eBay. The sellers would have to select Used or For Parts or Not Working as the condition. BOTH condition reasons do qualify for the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
The buyer just has to select doesn't match pictures or description, even for the For the parts or not working listing. The reasoning is that the parts may not be as described.

OP1 year agoThank you for your feedback.
The more I read the seller's feedback, the more it became clear the seller is gaming EBAY money back guarantee policy.
It seems this seller's only wants to do partial refunds of $10 and that's the end of communication. No fix it. Nothing over $10. IF the buyers escalate things.
The seller clearly does not care about lying and selling broken products.
They are clearly using the 'AS IS' statement in the description as cover.
I asked questions about two different items... and they gave me the same generated message.
None of my questions were answered.
Red flag! Red flag.
The thing is, why does EBAY allow such obvious scam?

Mentor1 year ago@diaa73. The buyer is protected by the ebay money back guarantee so all the buyer has to do is file a not as described return request within 30 days of the date of delivery.
Then ask eBay to step in and help on the 4th business day if the seller doesn't issue a return label or a full refund.
Once tracking shows delivery back to the seller they have 2 business days to refund the buyer. If they don't then the buyer asks eBay to step in and force a refund .
Return requests go on a sellers record and if eBay forces a refund the seller gets a defect which seriously hurts a sellers account.
All that said it's best to go with your gut and avoid problems.
