As a seller why do I need to refund the shipping costs to a buyer that gave an incomplete address?
Buyer neglected to include the unit # for their address.
The package was returned to me. USPS told me it would cost $13 for an updated label. The buyer declined and requested a refund.
My options were, 1- wait a week or more for Ebay to step in and maybe resolve this. 2- refund the full amount, including the cost of the shipping. This last option meant I would lose all the money received from Ebay, as well as a further $7 for the shipping I had no control over.
This seems to be too pro-buyer. Why am I on the hook for the cost of the buyers error?
if I had waited a week, what would Ebay have done?
