As a seller, how do I change the shipping address?
Hello, I am trying to change the buyers shipping address after a purchase. I am on the purchase label page, I've edited the shipping address, and tried to purchase label. 'Something went wrong' is the message that I keep getting. How do I get this to work?
I've already canceled and the buyer repurchased, but they don't know how to change the address. Why can't I do it? Thanks!

·1 year agoNever change the address from the one shown on the order (that does not have to be an address registered to the buyer's account, they can input any address at checkout, but you must ship to whatever address is provided to you by eBay and no other address).
If you got a message from a user asking you to change the shipping address for a recent sale, FIRST check that the message actually came from your buyer. If it is from a different user account, report the message and ignore it, and ship to the address on the order.
If it is from your buyer, let them know you can cancel the order again and let them repurchase the item with the correct address entered on the checkout page.

OP1 year agoThanks for your reply. I am sure that the true buyer is changing the address. There is an option to change it, but it won't let me. According to Ebay, I should be able to. Here is there note I found in customer service:
Changing the order's shipping address
To be protected as a seller under eBay Money Back Guarantee, you should only ship orders to the address specified by the buyer at checkout. If a buyer contacts you and asks you to ship their item to a different address, you can still do so, but you won't be protected if the buyer opens an eBay Money Back Guarantee claim.
The best option is to cancel the transaction; the buyer can then repurchase the item and check out with the correct shipping address.

Did you see that while using the eBay Automated Assistant? I think I'd stick with @jonathanbrightlight's
advice (and what it states at the end of ^the info that you posted^).

·1 year agoThe buyer should be the one changing the address, not you. They have to do that before they finish checking out, not after. Notice the part right after what you highlighted: "but you won't be protected if the buyer opens an eBay Money Back Guarantee claim."
Don't do it. If the buyer can't figure it out, don't sell to them.
