As a seller, how can I initiate a return for a customer?
Summary: chenorae is handling a return for a buyer who encountered an incorrect sizing issue with a jacket. The buyer is having trouble uploading required information for an eBay return and wants to send the item back directly. fashionsandbeauty4u explained that sellers cannot initiate returns, and buyers must upload a picture before receiving a return label. They suggested contacting eBay customer service for assistance. mudshark61369 provided detailed instructions for the buyer to follow the correct steps in eBay’s return process, emphasizing the importance of selecting the right reason to avoid shipping costs.
She bought a jacket and the sizing is incorrect in one place on the listing. I told her to initiate a return and that I would be paying the shipping back. She keeps saying that it is telling her to upload (something), I'm not quite sure what. She said that she can't upload anything and just wants my address to send it back. I prefer to go through eBay to do this return. She said she is getting very frustrated. Is there a way that I can initiate a return for her to get this process going and in a right way?
Thanks,
Loretta

Tell your buyer to go to their purchase history, click on the More Actions button for your listing, select Return item and to choose from the menu that opens Didn't match description or photos.
Warn them not to select Didn't fit or they become responsible to pay the return shipping cost.
Once they file the dispute you will have 3 days to send them a return shipping label. They will have 5 days to get it into the hands of the shipper. When you receive the item back you issue a full refund.

A Seller cannot start a return for a Buyer. If she is trying to open an Item Not as Described return request on eBay, she is required to upload at least one picture (file). Then once you accept the return, eBay will email a return label to her.
Years ago, I had Buyer who said she didn't know how to do a return. At that time, eBay told me Buyers need to have a way to return things.
You could suggest that she contact EBay Customer Service to walk her through it.
