As a buyer - how can I request shipping cost back from ebay?
The seller shipped the item express at my request. I had already paid the $6.45 in shipping when I bought the item. The seller says I can leave a comment somewhere and ebay will reimburse me the shipping cost.
Where would I leave this "comment" or is this something I have to contact ebay customer service for?

When you purchase an item with shipping and then ask for a faster shipping method AFTER you paid then the original transaction needs to be cancelled by the Seller and the faster shipping added by them to the listing so you can purchase it with the faster shipping.
There is no place on eBay to leave a comment to get shipping back and you if all you paid was $ 6.45 and they paid more to ship the item to you then you got a deal on shipping.
eBay is not involved with this.

OP8 months agoThank you for your reply! The seller is also new to eBay so they were not sure how to proceed. I will just PayPal them the difference in shipping.

That would be the only way to cover the full cost of the $ 6.45 you already paid and the difference between that and the Express shipping cost.

Mentor8 months agoHi @deer-75
I'm unclear on what you and your seller are saying to each other. If you wanted the item shipped express, you would owe a very expensive additional shipping fee (you would not receive a refund - especially not from eBay).
Why would you think you would be owed a refund? I think something is missing from the details you posted.

Sorry for being unclear on the details. I agreed to PayPal them additional for the express shipping and mentioned how I already paid $6.45 so I would be only paying the difference in shipping. The seller then said I could leave a comment somewhere and eBay would refund me the original shipping cost and then I would PayPal them the full express shipping cost. I did not see an option anywhere for that so that is why I came to ask here.
