Are there any consequences for non paying buyers?
I’ve had 3 non paying buyers in 2 weeks and these buyers seem to suffer no consequences. They can’t be given negative feedback and they don’t lose privileges in the marketplace. Is there anything a seller can do to discourage this behavior so that I don’t incur opportunity costs when these buyers tie up my inventory? I would expect eBay to do more to prevent this since they also lose money from this behavior.
I’ve been on eBay since 2000 and every time I return to selling, the marketplace is worse.

Mentor2 years agoOn the fifth day cancel the transaction for non-payment. This puts a strike on the buyer's account. A couple of these and most sellers will have them block for a year.
If these were fixed priced listings consider using the Immediate Payment Required option. If these were sold by best offer, consider enabling the option that buyers must have a payment method on file in advance.
