Appealing late deliveries they won't remove AND I HAVE PROOF!!
I have sent 3 messages appealing my late deliveries and each one says, you are sending them off late. NO, I am not!!! We are having MAJOR issues in the Houston and surrounding areas since October and it's taking weeks and even months in some situations for people to get their mail. This has affected my ebay account with customers getting their items late. Because of this I get a receipt showing the day that I sent their purchase off and it's either the same day or within 2 days at the most of the item being ordered (other than weekends). I even sent the news broadcast showing what's going on when I sent my message about the late deliveries. I'm sure I'm not the only seller in this area who is having this issue, but it's not fair that it's counted against me when I have done everything right and it's the mail that's the problem. Please help!!! I can give you receipts for all the items that are being disputed. And ebay should also be able to tell something isn't right by some of the tracking information they are seeing. I tried talking to an agent several times and that's even more of a joke! I'm very frustrated with ebay. Tina

·2 years ago@picket_fence_outlet Hi Tina, you're being penalized for late shipments because your local USPS is not scanning your packages the same day you drop them off. It's that first scan, not a receipt, that eBay uses to verify when you shipped the package.
If you're not printing the shipping labels through eBay, you need to manually enter the tracking number from the USPS receipt on eBay > Seller Hub > Orders.
As long as the first scan is made within your handling time, you won't be penalized if USPS delivers the package late. So getting that first scan is critical.
Until the Houston area issues are resolved, ask a counter clerk to scan the packages in front of you. You'll need to make sure all your packages are scanned at drop-off from now on, to help improve your performance metrics. If the counter clerks won't scan (even though they're supposed to), talk to the local postmaster.
Another option, if you print your labels and you're available when your mail carrier delivers mail, is to schedule a free pickup at your door. The carrier will scan the packages in front of you. To schedule a USPS pickup the night before:

OP2 years agoHello Tree Fern,
I'm sorry it took so long to reply to you but I just saw your message.
I don't always use ebay shipping, but another shipping source and it automatically imports the tracking information over to my ebay account, I double check this to make sure the information is in there.
MY ROUTINE
Within 10 hours of receiving an order I package the item and print out the label
Within 10 hours from that I take my orders over to Mail and More. I am sure you are familiar with this type of service/store but in case you are not familiar with this type of "service" it's a place where people can drop of their USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. packages and before the store closes and these packages are picked up by the appropriate source. This is very convenient for me because I always have UPS and USPS and on occasion FedEx, so it's extremely convenient for me, kind of a "one stop drop."
I DO GET A SCANNED RECEIPT for each package that is being sent and thru what mailing service is being used. I have attached a copy of the receipt I receive. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, from that point I have done all that I can do as a seller to make sure my buyer receives their item(s).
When I noticed that I was being "penalized" for late shipping, I appealed the defect 2 times thru messages and then a 3rd time with a phone call and the agent stating he would check into it and have someone call me if they needed copies of the receipts.....that I sent twice thru the messages showing the packages were mailed IN TIME AND ALWAYS WITHIN 2 AT THE MOST DAYS FROM THE ORDER DATE, unless it was ordered late on Friday, then it didn't go off until Monday.
I always check on the tracking when packages are sent, and most of the time when there is going to be a problem it shows that I only printed the label but didn't drop it off (but remember I have a receipt showing I did) and then a week or more later it goes from label printed to delivered. OR, it may show me printing the label and dropping it off, but the package stops at some location and stays there for a week or more and then states it's going to be late and then is finally delivered. There are many other crazy things that are happening on shipping and it may not even include Houston and the surrounding areas, this particular package stopped in Illinois and stayed there for 3 weeks before it was delivered......who knows what happened?
I have done everything as I can as a seller to make sure my customers get their packages on time, and but there are some things I just can't help. When I notice that a package is taking too long I contact the customer and tell them what is going on and most of them have been wonderful and understanding and because of this I give them a 30% discount on their next order and even in one case refunded their money.
Oops, I forgot to say when I talked to someone from ebay about getting these items removed, no one ever called me and the items are still on there. At this point, I am going to call again and again and again until they are removed. Do you think I'm wrong, or am I missing something here? I am an above average seller and I want to stay that way! But because of these on my account my items are getting "pushed further down" and not getting the exposure they should be getting.
Thanks for replying and I'm sorry it took so long to respond!
Thanks, Tina

·2 years ago@picket_fence_outlet Hi Tina, I'm sorry this has happened to you.
The package labels must always be scanned by your local USPS (or UPS or FedEx) on the same day you drop them off.
It's that first scan by the carrier, not a dropoff receipt, that eBay uses to verify when you shipped the package. The receipt by Mail and More only shows that you dropped the package off to them. It does not prove to eBay when USPS and UPS received the packages.
EBay will not remove the transaction defects for late deliveries, because the package labels weren't scanned within your handling time, AND then the packages were delivered late.
It's good you're making sure the tracking numbers are importing to eBay (when it doesn't, always edit the order and manually enter the number).
From now on, you must also always make sure USPS and UPS scan your package labels the same day you drop off the packages.
As long as the first scan is made within your handling time, you won't be penalized if USPS or UPS deliver the package late. So getting that first scan is critical.
Mail and More is not doing that for you, so you must change the way you're dropping off packages.
From now on, take packages directly to USPS and UPS and ask them to scan the labels in front of you. A receipt is not enough. Do not just drop them off.
Or schedule pickups at your door and ask the carriers to scan the packages in front of you.
