Appealing feedback removal that ebay denied even though I did nothing incorrect
I sold a card a few weeks ago and had listed the card in the correct condition and also had "no returns" listed on the listing.
The buyer received the card ($1.69 purchase) and messaged me asking for a refund because the card had scratches on it (which falls under the parameters of NM).
I told the buyer that the card was listed correctly and I also have no returns on all of my listings. I did also tell the buyer if he wanted to request a return, then to process one through ebay and I would follow their recommendation. So instead of requesting a return through ebay, he left negative feedback.
I contatcted ebay to request a feedback removal and their system said they could not remove it even though the buyer did not follow ebays policy regarding return requests and just left a negative feedback instead.
Is there any way to appeal this decision? I went to the feedback removal tool and I dont see anywhere where I can appeal this.
Thanks,
Paul

Mentor2 years agoIf the seller has a no returns policy, ebay's Money Back Guarantee trumps the seller's No Returns policy if the item never arrives, or it is Not as Described. The No Returns policy is only good for buyer's remorse: changed mind, didn't like it, doesn't fit, found it cheaper elsewhere. For those reasons, the seller can decline a return.
The card was listed as Near Mint or better. If the buyer filed a returns request with Not as Described, you WILL accept the return and pay for the return shipping. If you refuse, ebay can refund the buyer out of your funds, you get a defect recorded on your account, the FVF is not refunded, and the buyer does not have to return the item.

OP2 years agoDisney,
I am aware of this. That is why I told the buyer that even though I don’t accept returns and the card was listed properly they could request a refund through eBay.
Instead of doing this, they just left negative feedback. That is why I am trying to get eBay to remove the negative feedback. I followed their protocol and listed card correctly and they basically wanted to do a buyers remorse return which I was initially declining. However if they would have started a return through eBay I of course would’ve accepted a return.
My only question is, how can I get eBay to remove the negative feedback since the buyer didn’t follow the rules and left the feedback which can hurt my reputation even though I did things correctly?
I attempted to dispute the feedback but eBay’s automated review system said the dispute was invalid. I just want a way to appeal to a human being on this because it was not right for this person to leave negative feedback when they did things wrong and didn’t follow eBay’s rules regarding a return.

-The Buyer's Feedback does not violate eBay policy
-I am not sure what rules you are referring to that the Buyer did not follow. They have the option to file a return, not as described (whether true or not) and eBay will honor it and charge you for the return shipping label. Buyers also have the option to leave Feedback on the transaction, returned item or not
-You should consider offering Free returns, depending on the situation less than Positive FB would be either blocked or removed under your Seller protections: Seller protections | eBay
