appeal a closed dispute
EBAY closed a dispute in favor of the buyer without reading the ad title which was precise and the buyer claimed it was not.

OP2 years agoThis was no help. It never goes anywhere to actually file an appeal. Just so you know. This appears to be deliberate. It is hard to believe Ebay would have done this dead end information by accident.
In 20+ years of selling on Ebay this is a first.
The buyer claimed he did not get what was advertised. Yet the ad title was exactly what he got.
The Ebay review must not have read the title or the ad. They just agreed we sent the wrong part and refunded his money from our account. The buyer sent the part back to us before Ebay's review was final.
This is just not right. Buyer's scamming the sellers and having Ebay find on behalf of the buyer without careful scrutiny of the case details.

Mentor2 years ago@martys-gm-junk You can try contacting eBay on social media to appeal. As I said though they are going to rule in the buyers favor.
Leave a PRIVATE message and they will get back to you:

This is my advice on the best way to handle refunds>>
I know that it's frustrating to have to refund a buyer that didn't read the description or title correctly.
If the buyer files a refund request saying that the item is not as described then you need to accept the return and issue the return shipping label.
The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrules your returns policy. Your return policy only applies if the buyer files a buyer's remorse return: Doesn't fit, changed mind, etc.
If you do not accept the return willingly then the buyer can ask eBay to step in and forces a refund. You do not get your seller's fees back, you get a defect and the buyer may be allowed to keep the item.
If the buyer abuses the eBay MBG in some way then you can report them but it doesn't get your money back:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/report-issue-buyer?id=4084&st=12&pos=3&query=Report%20an%20issue%20with%20a%20buyer&intent=report%20&context=9056_SELLER
Sellers have protection for return abuse if they offer FREE RETURN shipping on their listings OR if they are a Top Rated seller and offer 30 days or greater returns. The seller can then reduce the refund amount by up to 50% if the buyer sends a different item or somehow reduces the value of the item.
Seller protection:

Mentor2 years ago@martys-gm-junk I am sorry that happened. You can try and appeal but I don't think it will change the outcome of the case. See this page on how to appeal>>
