Appeal?
Summary: yeltrah shared a frustrating experience with eBay, where their listing of a firearm accessory was removed for allegedly violating eBay's firearms policy. Despite having bought the item on eBay and noticing similar items being sold by others, their appeal was denied with no option for further action. They found it ironic that the appeal page itself suggested related listings, including the same item.
I've just had a strange situation come up. I bought something and was unable to return it within the time I was given. So I thought I'd just relist it. (https://www.ebay.com/itm/366104455767) Ebay came back and said that it violated their firearms policy because it is a part of an assault rifle. It is an optional plug to prevent dirt from getting into the barrel when it is not being used. The firearm itself is not an assault rifle by any stretch of the imagination. I appealed the ruling, and my appeal was flatly denied with no recourse. I think it is very odd since the item was purchased from eBay, and there are dozens of the same item listed by other sellers. In fact, on the appeal response page they sent me, it loaded links to related items across the bottom, including links to purchase another of the exact same item. It's laughable.
