App claims it's outdated, can't review offer from seller
This has happened quite a few times now. I go to review an offer from a seller, but get a big red warning that says that the app is outdated, so I can't review the offer. There's no update available for the app when I go to play store to check.
I have tried restarting my device, clearing cache, and I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app to make sure that I'm on the latest version. Still get the same warning.
It doesn't happen with every offer, just one here and there.
I'm on android 8, ebay app version is 6.115.0.2

Mentor2 years agoThe latest version of the eBay app is 6.165.0.2.
You may need a later version of Android to run it, though.
If you are unable to use the latest version of the app, try using a browser to reach ebay.com instead.

OP2 years agoThere's no newer android version for my device though, and usually when that is needed I get that info in the play store when I go to app pages.
I would also be more willing to accept that it's the android version that is the culprit if I got the outdated app warning on every offer, or when trying to do other things in the app. But that's not the case. It's only on some offers, and everything else in the app works, I have never seen that warning in any other part of the app.
I'm not trying to be argumentative here, I just don't understand why I get the warning on some offers and not every offer, and why the rest of the app works without problems.

If you have an old version of Google Play Services or Google Play Store, that can prevent you from seeing newer versions of the eBay app, so you may not be aware of new versions at all.

Old versions of the app are unpredictable and prone to errors.
Unfortunately eBay does not do a very good job of explaining the current minimum requirements to run the latest version of the app, and much of the info I can find appears to be out of date.
