Anyone else finding it next to impossible to get views for their listings?
I miraculously sold 3 items but have been unable to get even 1 view on most of my current listings despite knowing that others on E-Bay have a couple of the same items as I listed but at much higher prices! This defies common sense and feels like some type of fraud.

Just because you have something for sale doesn't mean there are buyers out there who want to look at it or are interested in buying it. There are over 2 billion items for sale on eBay at any time and more are added every minute.
What would defy common sense would be to think that eBay doesn't want sellers to sell as many items as possible as that's how they make their money - through selling fees on sold items.

OP4 months agoOf course I'm well aware that not everyone will be looking for the particular items I happen to have for sale; however, as a buyer, I typically search categories to find what I'm looking for but stumble upon things I had been looking for for years but had given up on finding. Needless to say, I buy them if the price is right. My main issue is that after I post an item, I typically get 0 views despite the fact that years ago when I posted items, I ALWAYS got at least 2 views. According to what I read back then, those were supposedly E-Bay personnel doing their thing. Having bought items from many sellers, it's obvious many feel the same way as I because they have often expressed extreme gratitude when I've bought from them! Recently, one told me I made their day. I'm glad to know that! When I checked into the promoting of items, I learned that many sellers didn't find any value with doing that and some actually got charged fees even when their items didn't sell, which isn't supposed to happen according to the rules which I read for that program. When I've been looking for a specific item, I've often seen the same exact items from the same seller be repeated over and over. When you have many of the same items being shown, that obviously delays items from others from being seen as quickly. It's also annoying to me as a potential buyer to keep having an item I've already seen keep popping up because if I want to see an item again, I'll put it in my watch list or cart. Fortunately, I don't have an online business. I truly don't understand how anyone could possibly have a successful full time business selling items on E-Bay unless they list the maximum amount of items allowed at one time across all categories and have a very large space to keep track of all of their packaged and labeled items ready to ship but awaiting sale! I've often saved sellers but have no idea how to find them again so I don't understand the point in saving them. When I want to buy from someone from whom I bought in the past, I go to my purchase history and access their 'store' that way.

In no particular order...
You can find your saved sellers by clicking the My eBay dropdown menu at the top right of most pages, then choose Saved sellers.
Years ago, eBay recorded views when a seller looked at his own item. That problem no longer happens. When you only have a few listings, your chances of selling items is not as good as when you have more listings that drive traffic to your other listings.
Sellers are not charged a promotional fee if the item doesn't sell. There are however listing upgrades that have a fee (for example, a subtitle, a reserve on an auction, etc.). Some sellers find that promoting their listings help and others never promote. It's a personal choice.
Sellers are not allowed to list duplicate items in search. If the duplicate listings you see are listed by the same seller, you can use the Report option on the listing to bring it to eBay's attention. (Click the question mark at the bottom right of the page.)
