Anyone else completely dissatisfied with the new shipping costs? and eBay in general?
Summary: jersa1971 expresses dissatisfaction with eBay's new shipping charges and policies, highlighting issues such as unexpected changes in shipping costs, the inability to use media mail for certain items, and reduced seller discounts. They mention the frustration of handling fees, return policies, and the lack of seller-specific options, which have led them to consider removing low-cost items from their listings. Additionally, they criticize eBay for not accepting feedback and turning off discussions that challenge their practices.
I am extremely unsatisfied with ebay's new shipping charges and with the way they try to make us the sellers feel wrong to keep the shipping discounts on our end. They default set the shipping discount to the buyer's end for starters instead of asking us if we would like to offer the discount to buyers. Also I have seen several times now for example I had all the weights and dimensions added to my listings, but for some reason it will show the buyer paid for example [ $8.47 or something like that with ground advantage with a package weight of 4 lb 2 oz) but I edit the weight to an actual 3lb 14oz and somehow the shipping is $10.38 or something like that. How is this even possible?
Also I have noticed extremely high costs for small items I just shipped an item that was 5oz in a bubble mailer like 10" x 7" x 1" and it was the highest price I have ever seen $7.30 when I have been used to a much lower cost of more like shipping of $4.45 or something like that for an item that was only $9.99.
Another problem is when we sell a manual or booklet with the word manual or booklet in the title even and eBay with their overpowering wisdom decides that we are not allowed to ship the item via media mail because they for some rediculous reason decided the category doesn't or cannot possibly have books or manuals?
I am going to start going through all my different accounts and removing any items that are under $13 with free shipping and just donating them and or throw them away, I cannot play roulette with shipping costs on small and lightweight items. I would consider just doind calculated but I realize the customers will not want to pay these costs and it is now a waste of time selling these items any longer.
We went from a 20% discount on fees to a 10% discount then they tighten the restrictions to keep that discount with tight handling of 1 day and forced return policy.
I remember having our place to write our own return policy, specific to ourselves. however it meant absolutely nothing because ebay's policy overrides it, so what was the point of wring a policy or even giving us a box to write a policy in? the only choice down the line was ebay's return policy or no returns, all while giving us a box to write our own return policy in?
I was reading a thread similar to this a while back, and ebay turned the thread and comments off because they coudn't handle the feed back from us the sellers...YES THE ONES WHO MAKE IT A MARKETPLACE WITH OUR ITEMS!!!

Mentor1 month agoYou can keep the shipping discount by going to your account settings and change the default setting back to not sharing the discount. I do not like the fact that they want to change the default but it is easy to correct.
As far as shipping charges going up eBay has no control over this. The USPS made a few changes to Ground Advantage shipping over a month ago. First the are adding a surcharge for shipping to Rural zip codes along with a few other areas. So you can see an increase because of where the buyer lives. Also, the biggest change is for packages under one pound. They now charge the rate for 15.99 ounces even if the package weighs less than this. So lightweight packages are charged as if they weigh almost a pound. eBay cannot control what he USPS charges.
