An item I am interested in purchasing has been repeatedly coming up for auction at the same price an
And will not accept a lower starting bid. I sent a message to the seller offering a lower price with no response. Any suggestions?

Yes, place a bid on the item at the starting price. The Seller does not have to lower their price just because you ask. I Relist Auctions many times before they sell but just because they don't sell on one auction cycle doesn't mean I drop the price. Sometimes I raise the price and items still sell.
If you REALLY want the item then I suggest you bid on it.
